Yea, though there are family matters about,

the quest for learning, thus the study of new data, must not be bypassed.

Well, because the only thing that matters to the left is "Thomas is off the reservation!"

which is how we wind up with a clown like George Takei calling Clarence Thomas 'a clown in blackface'.
But if the measure of judicial accomplishment is the number and quality of opinions a justice writes — and not the questions he rattles off during oral arguments — then by that measure, Thomas is among the most impressive justices: He has now written more than 500 opinions, many of them contributing new and painstakingly researched analysis. His opinions in United States v. Lopez, McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Commission and McDonald v. City of Chicago are just some examples from the illustrious list. He has also demonstrated the fortitude to hold true to his jurisprudential principles in the face of withering attacks.

Mainly, though, it’s that Thomas, throughout his career, never wavered from a set of principles that many liberals don’t think a black man can legitimately hold. He believes in individual rights, not group rights, a view enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. He opposes racial preferences both because they are bad policy and because they have no basis in the Constitution. Thomas held those views long before he arrived on the court, but they have been powerfully expressed in many of his opinions.
And those opinions drive the left (further) into insanity.

Proof some SJBs are too stupid to live?

Do nothing but look for something to be offended by?  Ok:
The British Army is facing accusations of racism after a photo was posted from its official Twitter account showing a soldier wearing camouflage that critics compared to “blackface”.
I think that takes care of it.

One of the replies: “If you think camouflage is racist, please wear a hi-vis jacket next time you’re being shot at,” one message read.

The Army did make a mistake in their response:
"We can see how the tweet may have been misinterpreted, have immediately removed it and apologise for any offence it may have caused.”
The proper response would have been "If you're offended by this, you're an idiot.  And we're not wasting time talking to you."

'Non-existent' or 'not enough to matter' vote fraud again

For years here in Virginia I have observed massive fraud – in the registration process, in the absentee ballot casting, in the battle to remove photo IDs, in the voting at the polls. Recent studies have shown thousands of illegal alien registrations in Virginia, and hundreds of voters also casting votes in other states (college kids the worst offenders). My own identity (SS No.) was stolen last year and used to get a fraudulent tax refund and voting. I have written in the past about the massive fraud here with illegal alien voting. For over a decade the SEIU and its local affiliates have gone through the extensive illegal alien community here in Virginia fraudulently registering illegals who then vote in large numbers, usually in early voting or absentee ballots, because there are no poll watchers to challenge them. They even brag about it.

And let's not forget the arrogant stupidity of Hillary Clinton and her disdain for things like (other people's) secrets:
Nope. It was about presidential response times once a nuclear strike was being detected. Like how long it would take to get the president out of the bathroom taking a crap or shower, or out of the presidential limo when out at a banquet, or from the bedroom to the communications room to initiate a counterstrike. It was marked Top Secret. TOP SECRET!
So I was floored last night when I heard Hillary Clinton come out with the “four minutes to react” comment.
I won’t confirm the accuracy of that number, or even the context she was referring to, but that was TOP SECRET information.
If we ever had the time and opportunity I would take you through a discussion of the OODA loop, a tool we in the military use to get inside an enemy’s decision cycle. What Clinton revealed last night was a clue for an enemy to know what is one of the most critical parameters of OUR OODA loop.
But what are the media, the punditry, the politicos, and unfortunately PowerLine talking about today? Donald Trump’s valid complaint that he can’t make any acceptance of election results when the threat of fraud has never been greater.

Harris is probably going to be a Senator from Californicated; if she craps on the law this way as AG, what'll she do in that office?
The execs are now hitting back -- as they should. They've asked the court to dump the case with a detailed and thorough filing. It highlights that the charges violate the First Amendment, Section 230 of the CDA and, at an even more basic level, the complaint doesn't even satisfy the requirements for "pimping," which is what they're charged with.
That Section 230 part- well, it OUGHT to get her thrown out of office for violating the law.
More specifically, the AG’s theory expressly violates Section 230, which Congress enacted twenty years ago to preserve and promote free speech on the Internet by immunizing website operators from liability for publishing content provided by third-party users. Section 230 preempts all contrary state laws—including state criminal laws. Indeed, Attorney General Harris has acknowledged that Section 230 precludes her from prosecuting Backpage.com, but she has now commenced a prosecution to do precisely what she admits Section 230 prohibits.

Jews and Guns, by a Jew with guns.  This is the author of Jew Without a Gun from the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and it's well worth reading.  One bit:
The Sword is Not the Cause
Ariel pointed out that in his commentary on Genesis 4:23, Ramban, Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman, the towering medieval scholar, writes with refreshing clarity:
“The sword is not the cause of murder, and there is no sin upon him who made it.”
In other words, a weapon, be it a sword or a gun, is neutral. It can be used for good or evil. Thus to label a gun as “bad” makes no sense, for a gun can be used in self-defense which the Torah sees as an obligation.
and
One of the hallmarks of postmodernism—the denial of absolute truths—is an astonishing inability to recognize, much less confront, evil. Therefore it becomes psychologically necessary for the liberal to place the blame on an inanimate object–the gun–rather than on the person who pulls the trigger. It is easier to fault the gun manufacturer for the horror at Columbine, rather than admit that two sixteen-year-old boys are evil.

The Jewish attitude, Ariel maintained, is to place the blame where it squarely belongs: on the two young men; to declare their evil, and never again utter their names. For just as goodness is a reality, so is evil.

Data time

I think it's a nice set

Ever notice the 'Get rid of Citizens United people don't mention

things like this?
During the Citizens United arguments, Justice Samuel Alito asked Malcolm Stewart, the deputy solicitor general defending the government’s censorship, whether the law would empower Congress to ban books. Stewart affirmed that books too must be subject to “electioneering communication restrictions.” And thus do our so-called liberals become book-burners.

Of course the Brady Campaign faked numbers;

that and lying is what they do.
A leading gun control group included adults in death statistics used in a media campaign about toddlers.
...
The campaign’s ads exclusively use imagery of toddlers and young children, but some of its gun violence statistics include incidents having nothing to do with children.
Again.
The Brady Campaign pointed to a fact sheet published by its sister organization, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence(see 'faking numbers and lying' above), to corroborate the statistic. The fact sheet claims “2,624 kids and teens die from gun violence” each year, based on analysis of a Centers for Disease Control database. The statistic counts the firearm-related deaths of everyone under age 19, from toddlers to 18 and 19-year-old adults.

The CDC’s 2014 National Vital Statistics Report records starkly different incidence of firearm-related death for children and young adults.

So, what do they do when called on this?  Lie again.
The Brady Campaign said its message is not confined to just toddlers, though the campaign’s website is named ToddlersKill.org.

Lying: it's what they do.

I hope O'Keefe has good security

And maybe a food taster.

No kidding?

FBI agents say the bureau is alarmed over Director James Comey deciding not to suggest that the Justice Department prosecute Hillary Clinton over her mishandling of classified information.
...
This is a textbook case where a grand jury should have convened but was not. That is appalling,” an FBI special agent who has worked public corruption and criminal cases said of the decision. “We talk about it in the office and don’t know how Comey can keep going.”
Because Obama and Lynch and Clinton bought him, and that's what he cares about.

And they charge huge fees to do it, too.
Colleges are toxic environments for young men these days and often, they end up causing the men who identify as male nothing but a headache. This is psychological abuse of the worst sort because it is sanctioned by the schools as a way to punish any man who dares to assert his masculinity.

More peaceful protesters.
Two journalists named Phelim McAleer and Magdalena Segieda, of the documentary FrackNation, were held hostage in their own car until a sizable police force was able to arrive on scene and escort the two journalists to safety.

Sounds like a bunch of Democrats didn't/don't like her telling the truth about what she thinks about the private ownership of arms.  Well, guess what, guys?  WE don't like what she thinks, period.

I'd never heard of the 'angel's glow'.

Something I have to take note of:

An activist who bragged about disrupting multiple Donald Trump campaign events in a recent Project Veritas video was on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign payroll, a search of Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reveals.

In a Veritas video released Monday, filmmaker and provocateur James O’Keefe recounts meeting activist Zulema Rodriguez at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. In the video, Rodriguez takes credit for violent protests in Chicago that forced Trump to cancel a March rally.
...
Notably, a search of FEC records reveals that Rodriguez was paid by the Clinton campaign shortly before she disrupted the Chicago rally. The campaign paid her $1,610.34 as a “payroll” expense, and also gave her a $30 payment that is described only as “phone.”

Now add in
Convicted felon Bob Creamer, the Alinskyite agitator husband of Illinois Socialist Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky, is stepping away from his duties with the Clinton campaign because he doesn't want to be "a distraction in the important task of electing Hillary Clinton."
...
Yesterday, Scott Foval, the former national field director for Americans United for Change, was fired from that organization. Foval can be seen in the first video bragging about paying homeless and mentally ill individuals to cause disruptions at political events, and explaining how Democrats have been committing voter fraud on a massive scale for 50 years in the second video.

Top with
A key operative in a Democratic scheme to send agitators to cause unrest at Donald Trump’s rallies has visited the White House 342 times since 2009, White House records show.

Robert Creamer, who acted as a middle man between the Clinton campaign, the Democratic National Committee and “protesters” who tried — and succeeded — to provoke violence at Trump rallies met with President Obama 47 times, according to White House records. Creamer’s last visit was in June 2016.

So next time some Evil Party apologist starts screaming about 'non-existent vote fraud' and such, slap them with some of this.

'Clinton Camp Worried Gun Control Position Would Not Play Well in Southern States'

No shit?
A top Clinton campaign staffer worried her gun control stance would turn off voters in southern states, a hacked email released on Sunday shows.
I could just save this to paste: "Translation: Say what the current audience wants to hear."

I do wonder, considering how many people in other states have become gun owners the last few years, do they have any idea how many non-southerners are pissed-off by her gun-grabbing ways?
(forgot to publish earlier)

The son and wife are visiting,

so go read something else for a day or two.

One thing:
According to documents released by the FBI on Monday, it is possible that classified information on Clinton’s server was compromised by longtime family associate Sidney Blumenthal and that information could have found its way onto a Romanian server.

“The search uncovered hundreds of files that the witness believed to be from Sidney Blumenthal’s server on a server in Romania,” reported LawNewz’s Chris White, citing FBI documents. “These files included Microsoft Word, Excel, and other documents, but no emails. Blumenthal’s email account was breached by the Romanian hacker Guccifer.”
I think it safe to say that that hack Blumenthal not only didn't have clearance, but had no legal reason or ability whatever to have access to that information.  And if the EffingBI and DoJ doesn't actually INVESTIGATE this, this we can(if we didn't already) consider them so corrupt and compromised that they should be ignored.

After they're flogged and fired, of course.

Translation: "I say whatever will go over best for the audience I have."

Hillary Clinton told top banking executives that she has “both a public and a private position” on Wall Street reform and is reliant on wealthy donors to fund her campaign, leaked excerpts of the former first lady’s speeches seem to show, fueling claims of hypocrisy on the part of Mrs. Clinton at a crucial moment in the presidential campaign.

The release by WikiLeaks, which the Clinton campaign has said it will not confirm, appears to show Mrs. Clinton discussing how she seeks to “balance” her public rhetoric on Wall Street reform with her actual positions, and with the reality that wealthy bankers and investors must partner with government to enact change. The documents also show the former secretary of state admitting that she’s out of touch with average Americans and is “kind of far removed” from the lives of the middle class.
Only possible comment:

Wonder if the Sanders supporters and the Warren minions will admit any difficulty with all this?

Another pedantic jackass cartoon

the other one, in case you haven't seen it

When just about everybody not getting a city paycheck says you're a law-abusing jerk,

you have a problem.
So who is standing in the way. At the top, Mayor Bill de Blasio. Let me lay down a little bit of truth:

When the NY Times, NAACP, ACLU, WSJ, and NRA all come together to hold hands on something and agree that you are being tyrannical asshole, you know you screwed up.

It is hard to be so wrong about something that that the the NY Times, NAACP, ACLU, WSJ, and NRA are simultaneously right in calling you out on it, but de Blasio managed to be that wrong.
Short version: the NYPD has been abusing the definition of a 'gravity knife' to pump up their arrest numbers(i.e. 'pretend we're actually doing something worthwhile'), and throwing a bunch of honest citizens in jail.  Which has led to all kinds of lawsuits, cases being thrown out, etc.  But Comrade Mayor and his CoP can't stand the idea of losing a power to control the commoners and are screaming against any changes.
Oh look… the head of the organization that got caught red handed abusing a law using to unjustifiably arrest tradesmen is telling them what tools they should be using.
Of course.  Because he's a .gov minion, so obviously he knows what's best for everyone, in every way.

Wonderful people, aren't they?

I need to get to the range

and let some boomy goodness remove the taste of this election season from my mouth.

Because actually fixing the Navy is hard, but playing SJB

is easy.
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus is facing furor in the ranks over his decision to break with centuries of tradition and stop all identification of sailors by their job titles. It’s a lunatic fight to be having when the Navy faces multiple disasters.
Those challenges include crippling flaws in its newest class of ships, as well as serious problems with the new supercarrier, the Gerald R. Ford.
...
“Machinist mate” may mean nothing to a civilian, but it can be a swabby’s badge of honor — yet it’s one of hundreds of titles Mabus wants removed from daily use, demanding that all crew just call each other “sailor.” (The Marines, God bless them, so far refuse to abandon “rifleman.”)

Mabus is an asshat with the authority and backing to screw with literally centuries of tradition for the sake of showing how much he 'cares'.  And he doesn't give a damn how much damage he does.

Terrible when the facts don't fit your preferred narrative, isn't it?
San Bernardino, Calif., Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta privately wished that the shooter’s name were Christopher Hayes, hacked emails show.

After MSNBC reporter Chris Hayes identified one of the two shooters in the attack as Syeed Farook, Podesta wrote, “Better if a guy named Sayeed Farouk was reporting that a guy named Christopher Hayes was the shooter.”

A test of some newer .30 Carbine and .32acp ammo

The .30 Carbine test starts at 10:00 if you want to jump.  Both of the loads tested performed VERY well.  I've tried a handload using the Speer 110-grain Varminter that, in water jugs at least, impressed me; these don't require handloading.

I wish they'd tried the Speer Gold Dot .30 C ammo, I'm curious how it compares.

No, nothing crooked in all this, nooo...

He said "there was an alleged quid pro quo” involving Undersecretary for Management Patrick Kennedy and the FBI “over at least one classified email.”

“In return for altering the classification, the possibility of additional slots for the FBI at missions overseas was discussed,” Chaffetz said.
Appears kind of crooked to me, though.

Speaking of crooked, and "Special Rules For Special People",
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Colorado has declined to prosecute an employee of the Environmental Protection Agency over a massive mine wastewater spill that fouled rivers in three states, federal investigators said Wednesday.

The EPA's Office of Inspector General disclosed that it had found evidence the unnamed employee may have violated the Clean Water Act and given false statements.

However, office spokesman Jeffrey Lagda says federal prosecutors declined to pursue the case. He says that in lieu of prosecution, the case will be sent to senior EPA management for review.
If some mine owner or manager had done the same thing, these bastards would already be measuring him for a prison cell.  But it was a EPA employee, so he may face the horrible punishment of getting his hand slapped.  'Equal Justice under the law' my ass.

Borrowing from over at Ace,
Here are some different suggestions for modern living posted by longtime moron Grump928(C) awhile back:

1 Stop buying stuff
2 Do only what the government directly compels you to do.
3 Pay in cash with a winkwink
4 Cheat the government whenever possible
5 Steal all your entertainment
6 If you know of tax cheating, keep your mouth shut
7 If called to jury, refuse to convict if you think the law unjust
8 Discriminate in all your private dealings, without openly saying so
9 If you see a CoC sticker on a business, go elsewhere
10 Vote against all tax levies, particularly school levies
11 Buy firearms and ammo. It's not simply a just-in-case, it's a good financial investment of small sums when savings are yielding 1/4 of a percent.
So what's driving this? Grump says: "They have laid down the marker, the law means nothing" and "Obeying the law is no longer a matter of ethics or morality but merely a matter of consequences." I liken it to playing a football team where the referees are wearing the uniform of the other team. At some point, you just have to refuse to play.
That's a good way to put it, no longer a matter of ethics or morality but merely a matter of consequences. And a definite sign of of how much trouble we're in.
